How does it work and what happens in a lesson?

The teacher verbally instructs the pupil while simultaneously working with her/his hands, not in a manipulative way but gently guiding the pupil in simple and slow movements. We use everyday activities, such as sitting, standing, bending down, walking, lying down. This procedure gradually modifies the habitual muscular behaviour so that muscles under excessive tension are gradually released and the whole body becomes more structurally balanced.

The Alexander Technique is not a treatment or therapy but a learning process.

You will need to wear clothing that allows you to move freely.

Sessions last approximately 50 minutes and are usually taught on a one-to-one basis and relate to your needs. A course of lessons is recommended to develop and maintain the benefits .
